not much chance of 'The Lady in Red' from Dixon of Dock Green (1958) being saved either.

not much chance of 'The Lady in Red' from Dixon of Dock Green (1958) being saved either. Sadly not - it's definitely a lost episode. Does anyone if Dixon of Dock Green was sold overseas? I can't imagine it was as I think it's a bit too British.

so much unexpectedly lost - like the 'Bunch of Red Roses' episode of the BBC 1960 series 'Days of Vengance'.

not much chance of 'The Lady in Red' from Dixon of Dock Green (1958) being saved either. Backtracking, 'Beasts' survives complete to my knowledge. 'Theatre 625' is known to be largely depleted, certainly in comparison to the BBCs 'Play for today' and 'Wednesday Play' holdings. As far as I know, only selected entries from the second series of 'Dixon' (1956 - ?) were recorded off air, to represent the output. These are the only surviving 50s episodes, but include some nice ones. 'Dixon' is extremely depleted compared to the vast broadcast output. The BBC do have examples from 1960, 63 and 64 (I think), 67 plus inserts for 1966 episodes. Finding an outstanding individual entry in a series surviving is always a hit and miss affair. The acclaimed 'Last tram to Lime St' in the 'Armchair theatre' series hasn't been kept, but studying holdings I verified the transmission the week before survives. Its often the case the one you want to find is missed by a hair!
