Hi Shelley, thanks for your kind words! I took early retirement 2 yrs ago, and as I love this forum it gives me great pleasure to try and be helpful, it also helps keep me from under my wife's feet! anyway, I digress. I have checked out the NME dated 17th June 1966 and found the following article on page 7.
Beatles 11th-hour Yes to live 'Top Pops' TV
The Beatles were last night (Thursday) making a surprise live TV appearance on BBC-1's "Top of the Pops"! They were singing both sides of their new single which enters this week's NME chart at No.2 It was the first time they have appeared live on TV since they were in ABC's "Blackpool Night Out" in July, 1965. Brian Epstein explained to the NME on Wednesday: "On Monday, "Top of the Pops" producer Johnnie Stewart wrote me a letter saying that although he had scheduled a Beatles film clip for the programme, there had been an unprecedented demand for them to appear live in the show and would they reconsider their decision not to. "I put it to the boys late on Tuesday and they said 'yes'". (end)

I looked at my collection of NME's from 1968 and nothing to be seen regarding (Pans People) do you want me to check out 1969 and 1970?
In the meantime I'll check out my Disc and Music Echo from the same period
re The GoJos I've still to check on any articles on them but I'm not holding out much hope!

Hello William. You may very well have started the best thread on here in ages!! Thanks. Could you possibly, at your leisure, post any TV appearance references to both 'The Honeybus' and 'The Idle Race'. Pretty sure the majority of what both bands did on the TV end of things are wiped but it would be great to have some kind of structured list to go on. Take your time on that one, no rush. We're talking mainly 1968/69 for both bands. Cheers William.

Have you got the Gojos article from Lady Penelope #5? I've three Pan's entries in the Fred Marshall/Popdown Chronology if they're any use: 14 Jan 1967 Record Mirror reports on Rik Gunnell's signing of "Pam's People" [sic], six female dancers who were then appearing in a Belgian TV pop show called 'Vibrato'. 31 Jul 1967 Pan's People begin a three-week cabaret engagement at the Savoy Hotel. 09 Dec 1967 The New Musical Express reports Pan's People are to dance an untitled hour-long ballet with music written and performed by the Yardbirds at the Paris Olympia on December 13 and 14. Have a clipping related to the Savoy engagement somewhere. Will dig it out.

Hi Thomas,
Honeybus UPDATE number 1
Thanks for your kind words, yes I'm pleased with the way this thread is going!
lets start with Honeybus
I checked the NME from around the time of their hit "I Can't Let Maggie Go" in April 1968 and found the following:-
NME 6/4/68 Honeybus on Southern TV's "Time for Blackburn" that weekend
NME 11/5/68 Honeybus on BBC1's "Dee Time" that Saturday 12/5/68
NME 18/5/68 Honeybus on BBC1's "Whistle Stop" on Friday 24/5/68
NME 7/9/68 Southern-TV's "Time for Blackburn" this weekend will include a 15 minute segment filmed at London's Revolution Club. It features Terry Reid singing, as well as interviews with Lulu, John Walker and Jonathan King. Also in the show are HONEYBUS and Tangerine Peel.
That's all I can find just now, but I'll keep looking!
by the way as a footnote there is an article on Colin Hare from Honeybus within the Disc and Music Echo dated 18/5/68 under the title Honeybus a Week (just thought I'd let you know)

Large interview with the group and small b/w picture during the interview it mentions that at a recent "Top of the Pops" appearance (did'nt give the date of transmission) Lulu complemented Pete Kircher on the song (Maggie) "She said she wished it had been written for a girl to sing" said Peter, "I suggested we re-title it 'I can't let Henry Go' for her but I don't think she took me seriously.
