Hi all, Does TAKE 3 GIRLS survive at the BBC? We are working on a Peto-Scott EL3400 Reel to reel videorecorder, and its played a few seconds of the title sequence in B/W...........very poor, but hopefully, we will get there! There are 4 Philips and Scotchboy reels, about an hour each? Anyone got any info. on this machine? (or a circuit diagram!!!) ianj

The series is very patchy in the archives so any recoveries would be welcome.

one of the episodes from series one wasn't there when it came up for digital transfer, so that depletes the total even further.

Right, a quick update; the el3400 is going to be overhauled at Gerry Wells's museum -- it IS playing, but the tape snags and the picture rolls.......I think a fast wind through and rewind will help tape playback, along with some lubrication of the mechanics--this V.T recorder is COMPLEX!!..........more news soon(I hope!!) ianj

Ian. if the picture is rolling it could be something to do with the control track pulses (VT sprockets) ? The control pulse head looks like an audio head and sometimes cruds up if neglected. If it is very worn there is a trick with some wet and dry paper, but should only be done by someone who knows what part to do,without further damage,
hope that is of help?
