I'm looking forward to this one, having been enjoying the Mr.Rose sets already. Hopefully The Odd Man will follow as well. It just goes to show you can never tell what's out there!

Hm.IMDB gives a full cast list for only two series 2 episodes: 'A Slight Case of Matrimony' 26/3/1965,and 'The Prevalence of Liars' 9/4/1965,the latter with Oliver Reed,Anthony Ainly,and John Stratton: www.imdb.com/title/tt0964880/ It'd be interesting if this means that these are the rediscovered episodes,though I'm sure the info was in the TV Times! (A full cast list is given for all 8 of the series 1 stories).

Laurence,when 'The Odd Man' does come out,it'd be nice if it came complete with the six missing episodes!

Fantastic news! I've loved the "Mr Rose" releases so this is definitely one I'll be getting. It's even better news that two more episodes have surfaced too. It's a bit of a pity that we only seem to hear about these recoveries when the series come to be released- makes me wonder whether there are other recoveries happening that don't get reported.

Good point Simon, IMDB has Sergeant Cork,for instance,listed as one of the most popular of the 'partially lost TV shows' www.imdb.com/keyword/partially-lost-tv-series even though it looks as though Network are about to release the last series,completing all 66 episodes on DVD.I think IMDB reckon that some 36 are lost,Lostshows about 15. It does make you wonder what more is in the archive-look at the sudden surfacing of all the episodes of the 1950's 'Overseas Press Club'-and think that it would be nice to have a look,though it's also tremendous to get the episodes arriving like manna! p.s.It seems to me that Network,or some enthusiast in the industry may be notifying IMDB,so that they add episode-guides to newly-uncovered shows (though nobody updates the 'partially-lost' listings,which are years out of date),but not Lostshows?

The same happened with the 4 "missing" episodes of The Fellows, although Lostshows was updated with that one.
I dare say there's likely to be some reason why such finds aren't reported here, despite the fact that Network (at least in part) is run by fans who would know that the finding one or two more episodes of, say, "Miss Adventure" or "The Rat Catchers" would be welcome news to us without thinking there was any likelihood of a DVD release.
I can understand why higher-profile recoveries like last year's "Doctor Who" episodes would be kept under wraps until MBW for the sake of publicity. I guess the same would be true for something like an "Avengers" episode.

I remember this being shown at the time (I'd be 12) and loved the theme music (Jackie Trent's Where Are You Now My Love www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJLESaA_XrA) at the end of each episode a girl would put the single/song on her Dansette. Oliver Reed was particularly disturbing, a menacing figure leading a girl around in a dog collar. According to IMDB he seems to only appear in series 2 episode 7 but maybe that's down to lost episodes/info.

In the late 60s,DC comics revamped the Wonder Woman title,making (Princess) Diana a Diana Rigg/Emma Peel martial artist.I seem to remember one of the stories was quite close to the first episode of Adam Adamant,and featured a girl led around in a dog collar. Mind you,Adam Adamant's origin seemed to be inspired by the reintroduction of Captain America...

The BBFC have recently classified 'The Guilty World of Hosea Pitt' (26/2/1965) and 'A Slight Case of Matrimony' (26/3/1965),two previously-missing second series episodes.

Maybe not after all. Amazon's description says this;
Although two series of It's Dark Outside were made, the second was thought completely lost until research for this set unearthed two episodes which still existed on film. Newly transferred, these episodes have been included here alongside all those from series one.
