Hearing about Network video acquiring rights to release LWT & Granada material prompts my own suggestions for possible releases as follows:
* Pop compilation featuring 'Lift off', 'Discoteque', 'Shangalang' & 'Rock on with 45'. Perhaps clips of 'Saturday scene pop awards' could be included as an extra?
* Early Kenny Everett material - Perhaps couple of NICE TIME plus the recently discovered 'EV' compilation (1970) as an extra?
* Mr Rose.
Be nice if these could be considered.

I remember reading here that most if not all of Kenny Everett's LWT shows have been wiped.
Ditto Granada's "Lift Off".

I remember reading here that most if not all of Kenny Everett's LWT shows have been wiped. Ditto Granada's "Lift Off". This is true. When I looked it up there isn't anything officially listed. But I think someone - Gareth R? - said a 15 to 20 min. compilation of EV was found recently and shown at MISSING BELIEVED WIPED, so perhaps this could be used. I've seen the titles for 'NICE TIME' so assume a t least one complete one exists. For LIFT OFF, only 2 seem to be listed (better than nothing). Some people have proposed that what may be referred may be just an 'accession' list, as material from 2 shows was used in 1990 (and had to be acccessed) for BEST CHILDRENS TV OF THE DECADE - VHS release. (Implying there may be another list somewhere). Plus theres the rumour of an additional Granada warehouse at a Manchester airport (what I heard). Interestingly, LWT were prepared to look into an off line copy of the Everett title and 'Taliesyn Tales' (Francis Chichester) for me around 1990 and quoted a price estimate. This seems to imply something was held to exist from the shows at that point. Perhaps the material was the unearthed compilation?

I think i'm right in saying that the Ev material only came to light in the '90s via MBW. Also, there seems to be at least one Nice Time existing on b/w VT - a clip has been used in a doc, which I have here. If I recall right, the Granada database lists some episodes of this (although whether they physically are found to exist is another matter).
That quote about Granada using storage space on Mamchester aairport came from Steve Bryant's book, I think. He refers to the fact that they had so much stuff to store that they had to find additional warehouse facilities away from their HQ. This was in the late '80s though and so whether this material has now been called in and transferred, i've no idea.
