Major one is "Acting in the 60s" tx 18/2/67. There is also a "Nationwide" item on the film "Steptoe and Son Ride Again" tx'd 15/2/73, but that seems to be all in the BBC archive.

Apart from the aforementioned there are two appearances on the Eamonn Andrews Show (ABC tx 8.5.66 celebrating ten years of ITV in the North and ABC tx 7.1.68 which features the infamous on-screen verbal brawl between David Susskind and Muhammad Ali) - I think a 1967 appearance on the show is in a compilation edition which repeats the 66 interview. There's also an interview from Today (Thames tx 7.10.75) and an appearance on Nice To See You (Thames tx 21.12.81)

Thanks for that, both I've recently come by a 5 and a half minute interview (which is the only part remaining of a whole show called 'This Day Tonight'), filmed (in B&W) by ABC TV in Australia during 1972.

Not so much of an interview, but a fab presentation speech on the Variety Club Awards of 1963. 19:03:64
A copy of this exists in BBC archives

Harry always had a really posh accent in his interviews. Was that really his natural speaking voice, or was he just trying to distance himself from his Harold Steptoe character?

Rob, as much as I love Harry H., I rather feel, it was all rather a bit put on… In his earlier days/interviews - when he was a thespian, he did tend to speak with what was a rather ‘posh’ accent. But in his later interviews (I found anyway, as I do have a few) he tended to speak more like Harold Steptoe. After all, do Mancunian’s normally speak with the help of a plum ? I think not!

The circles, in which one frequents, can also have an effect on one’s pronunciation...
Back to you Ted!
