Just wondering, does the episode of BBC's Talkback which discussed the violence in Doctor Who: The Tomb of the Cybermen still exist? I know that at the very least, an extract survives.

There is an audio copy of the item (which BBC Audiobooks have released) but the visuals for the programme have sadly gone.

I think the following edition exists though, at least in part - there's a clip on "More than 30 Years in the TARDIS", with the presenter saying something like "Well last week you may remember we discussed Doctor Who, asking is it too scary for the children, well perhaps it really came down to is it too scary for the parents?"

Just did a search on the BBC Shop and found out that the Talkback piece is included on Doctor Who at the BBC: Volume 2. Will definitely be buying that release!

The "Talkback" edition that discussed "Tomb" was the first edition, which for some reason has not survived - pretty much the rest of the late 60s run has survived... (of course this was much more galling before "Tomb" turned up!). There are a number of clips from missing (not DW) programmes on editions of "Talkback", including the last series of "Juke Box Jury" and the Nigel Kneale play "Bam! Pow! Zap!" (please excuse any innaccuracy in spelling!).
