Does anyone know the full story about the rumours and what is being done about it?

If its the rumour about acres of missing stuff, then its just old hat . When the 007 submarine stage was dug out and built, a load of material was found, in a vault that was on the site. This was subsequently either skipped/recycled or sent to the BFI. Rest assured the stuff that was dumped was mostly cutting copies of films (what the editor uses). If anything was significent then its far too late now.
Now when did they make 'the spy who loved me' ? as this is how old that story is

Ah, we would be talking about 1976 then. At that point the general policy was: if it's old - bin it.
I would imagine that, as H Hartley says, there would be nothing of interest in that story. If there was anything found of interest (and that's a pretty big "if") chances are it's toast.
Certainly can't imagine any old telly being held there unless some programmes had film inserts recorded there...

It's long been known that a lot of material lies in a Pinewood vault, seemingly in limbo due to complex rights issues etc. Let's hope the matter is resolved well - the last thing we need is more material being scrapped! It would be an outrage if that happened.
