Does anyone know the archive status of TVS's No 73?
This was the Saturday morning show that replaced TISWAS and ran from 1982 to 1988.
The reason I ask is that I have an edition recorded on VHS tape of the January to April 1986 season finale. It was transmitted on 26th April 1986 I think.
The guest singer was Belouis Some who sang his hit Imagination in the basement.
Do I have a copy of a missing edition? Be grateful if anyone can shed any light on it all?
I will then hunt through my parents loft for the box that it is in. And no that is not a joke. It is in the loft.
Many thanks.

Ah................................the pressing and difficult story of TVS!!!!
Television South's archive is partly locked away somewhere - in a right(s) mess; Disney have some of it, and it's apparantly by some accounts in the US, and by others somewhere in Kent. Kaleidoscope will know more than I!!!!
That said, and the fact that No 73 IS meant to exist....the archive's missing in action status, means that some documentaries, have used off-airs, when it comes to TVS clips....the famous Iggy Pop appearance was sourced, I believe from an off-air!
So keep a hold of that VT!

Brilliant,Ian. Does this montage have clips from 14 shows,or were there several sandwich quizes per show? www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_D0APRbeGQ These are all said to be from 1984,the first season. There are 14 clips, and there were 14 episodes that season.

This is a lost show.
Series 1-5 is complete, 6-8 is very patchy (although there are numerous VHS copies), and this particular episode does not exist.

Hi Nic!
Glad you've joined the Forum!
Have you got a complete guide to what exists seasons 6 through to 8?

Thanks! Nothing in a master format, but quite a few VHSs from 7-8. Series 6, there aren't even any VHSs!

Nic can we get these copied, and preserved? I know people who can do transfers for you.

Not to worry, all the masters and transfers are safe and soundly stored in a temperature controlled archive facility. Thanks for the offer though!

That's great news! I will keep my eye out for the other series, as will people on the Forum, I'm sure.

Holy moly, you've just solved my riddle! I asked in another thread about an episode which had a friend's dad as a guest. Watching this clip I noticed Frank Sidebottom, and that rung a bell, so I studied the crowd... and the really really tall guy at the back is the Dad! Thank you for solving that for me, inadvertantly!
