Clip (outtake) from a Today programme. Dates, I believe from 1970. Now Paul Nicholas and Marsha Hunt are in there, but can you spot the 1970's hitmaker playing guitar in this clip? He was 35 when this was taken, and broke into the charts in 1975.... N-E-X-T....

Would be nice if we could see the clip in question... some technical error I guess!

Not convinced that is an out-take from a Today programme - you can certainly see a bloody great TV camera at the other end of the singers, but this is obviously shot on film. As it looks like it could be Soho Square, be relatively easy for Pathe to send out a cameraman to shoot it if they had a kerfuffle outside... (and when I say "bloody great TV camera" I mean studio sized tape camera as opposed to 16mm bolex etc!!)

It's quite possible it isn't Today, but a fair bit of their late 60's and 70's archive was acquired from Thames -including some old Rediffusion footage!

Apologies for ressurrecting an old thread, but I certainly can't see Marsha Hunt in there. But, I CAN see (at 2'09" in) the black actress who used to be in 'Angels' (one of the nurses) I think. I also spotted ANOTHER film camera at the back of the singers too.

The Angels actress you mention is Angela Bruce. I looked up her Wikipedia entry and there is no mention of Hair. I agree with you though, it looks like it is her in the group (unless she has a doppelganger).

To me it looks a little like the corner of Endell St, junction of Shaftsbury Avenue. Was the show on at the Shaftsbury Theatre, if so it would have been just outside it.

Ahem.
Angels annual 1977 (so published 1976).page 19: Angela Bruce's resume "I stayed with the company for three years, touring the country...Working in Hair was a gruelling experience".
(Surely working in 'Oliver' would have been gruelling?).
p.s.Those of a nervous disposition should avoid Julie Dawn Cole's resume on page 12,where 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' is misspelled.

I must admit, Angela would have been an obvious choice for Hair, what with her impressive barnet. I will not comment on the Oliver pun!
