A fellow poster Chris Hyatte mentioned in another thread here that there had been a compilation of the Kenny Everett series "Ev" recovered recently Does anyone have any info on this ? It seems strange that Kenny made 3 series in a relatively short time for LWT and virtually all of them are listed as missing Indeed the only early shows he appeared in that exist - Nice time and Up Sunday, I can't recall any show's or clips being repeated since they were originally screened. For such a popular figure in entertainment with several documentary's produced in the last few years and no examples of his early work being shown. The Up Sunday show particularly looks interesting, with some great guests Peter Sellers, Eric Idle, Sir John Betjeman, Spike Milligan, Ivor Cutler, Eleanor Bron, Barry Humphries, John Fortune, Max Wall, Richard Murdoch, Roy Hudd, Vivian Stanshall, Percy Edwards, Jake Thakerey and Adge Cutler and The Wurzels en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Up_Sunday

That BFI site is not the one for finds. That just lists what they know once existed. Doesn't mean they have it. unionsearch.bfi.org.ukThat's the one for the catalogue.

The Ev reel is, I think, a compilation of material lasting about 15 minutes (?), which was reported as having turned up at LWT a few years back. I don't have any more info on content though. As far as I know, none of it has been screened at MBW events.
I've seen one Nice Time clip used in something a few years ago, from b/w VT. That's it though, as far as I know. All of Kenny Everett Explosion and Making Whoopee (and virtually all of Ev too) seem to have been junked, so no material is there to be used.
Up Sunday is one of those shows which has been virtually forgotten. A number of editions seem to exist so i'd eventually like to get a chance to see these myself!

Laurence, some Nice Time exists in ITN Source, and what's even more odd is that the BBC (!!!!) have a clip from the show, but it's from one of the shows ITN Source have.

I seem to remember a 2" of Video Explosion turned up under the floorboards at LWT VT where it had been put after it had been used as a "test" tape for some time - would have been back in early 1990s I think...

Does it still exist, Mark (and if so, where)? I hope so! I hadn't heard about that one before. Would really like to see it as I watched the series in 1970. Ray: I think there are three Nice Times existing officially. At least it's a representative selection, unlike the Kenny Shows, which have been virtually wiped from the face of the earth.

I have no idea - I just remember Trevor Popple telling me about when I did the "30 Years of LWT" show. It may have only been titles but I really don't know what happened to it. I didn't use it but did use the fragment of colour Simon Dee Show opening which had just been found on an old 2" which also may have come from below the floorboards...

A similar thing happened at Thames when having a clearout at Teddington.
Some test footage was found of the first animated Thames logo with various different jingles.
