According to the totp2 web site both of these eps exist, although 28/11/74 is listed as 27/11/74 for some reason, printers error maybe?

Thanks Simon. I assumed they might be. Do you have a link to the site you have checked for my future use. I've done a search and can't find it specifically, although I did find a couple of others such as Nostalgia tv, which also list the two episodes as missing? homepage.ntlworld.com/e.watkins/musictv/totp_full_shows.htmOr to be more specific, they confirm that the episodes may only partially exist, i.e. a few performances from each exist. To be clear the London Screen Archives site seems to indicate that both exist at the BFI in their entirety, listing a running time of 35m & 40m for the two items. Curious?

28/11/74 & 18/04/74 are partial shows only (inserts) that are held at the BBC. I don't know what versions the BFI have though.

The listing could be wrong of course but it indicates the BFI hold complete recordings at 35m & 40m respectively. Is anyone in a position to verify this?

Don't read too much into the durations on the BFI site. There's an episode of No Hiding Place on there that I know for a fact is incomplete, as we loaned the print to the BFI, but the duration quoted is 60 mins. That would have been the scheduled duration, but it's certainly not what is actually held. It's worth checking though.

Given what we're all discovering/confirming now about the BFI archive, lets hope these are now genuinely two full episodes.

An update on the 18/04/1974 Top of the Pops at the BFI.
Here's the reply i've had on this show:
"We hold a viewing copy of 18/4/74 but it is listed merely as Inserts, with no further details."
