does anyone remember Chan Canasta ? He was a sort of 1960s ' Derren Brown ' . As his performances were live and made for Rediffusion, the last thing you would expect is any of those shows turning up. However there is a DVD availble in the States, does anyone know if these be the old AR shows or something he did later in the US?

He also worked for the BBC: there is a show called simply "Chan Canasta" still in existence, tx'd 23/3/60 (and I think he may well have done others). Appearances also exist from a programme in the medical series "Lifeline" tx'd 17/2/60 (about mediums), and from "Parkinson" tx'd 19/12/71.

I remember him. He was one of many great magicians that I used to enjoy watching on television in the early 60s. I seem to remember that there was a Friday night series that he was on - but I could be wrong. Robert Harbin, David Nixon, Al Koran..... They were all great.
