Hello Everyone,
With all the commotion surrounding the recent PVL lost-missing Top Of The Pops clips posted, was something which I had mentioned was hoping for some further clarification-ideas in regards.
As is well known last year we saw some of the first footage from the rumored Dave Lee Travis in a brown duster jacket ( brandishing a floor broom ) and sharing the stage with Queen, was first witnessed. Now, I was under the impression that this copy had been sourced from Dave Lee Travis? As had read in regards to a discussion where he mentioned to still have the tape of that performance somewhere ( when was mentioned offhand ). The resulting material was amazing, know we are all wanting to see the full performance there in regards. I was then quite surprised to see the same performance ( in superior visual quality ) as part of the recent PVL You-Tube Compilation clips, in monochrome form. I had mentioned as to the possibility of a restored version using the superior visual copy, and the colour signal from the inferior copy. As can see the apparent rainbow patterning present there in regards in the colour copy. Was suggested that the copy was probably sourced from a tape which had not been baked ( to restore the colour signal ), and would probably posses the colour information after a proper " tape baking " had been accomplished. Which leaves me wondering wether there are indeed two copies of this in existence? One in colour, the other monochrome? Or possibly was this sourced by Dave Lee Travis from this very recording at some point? Or might he indeed have his own colour copy ( after seeing the other colour copy )?
I just saw this You-Tube compilation clip for all three Seven Seas of Rhye clips currently known about. And also, can see that both the monochrome clips seen previously exist in glorious colour as can see here. This was listed as being sourced from Queen- Day's Of Our Lives Bonus Features ( Blu-Ray Release ).:

Now the previously posted PVL clip, for comparative viewing.:

Very interested to hear what might be thought here in regards.
Cheers, Lance.
