One thing I'd like to see on a Z Cars release would be the surviving episode of Jacks and Knaves: made just a month before Four of a Kind, like Z Cars it too was a police procedural set in Merseyside (although rather more light-hearted). The scripts for the three missing episodes were dusted down and reused in Z Cars series 6.
Both series were inspired by a drama-doc in 1959, Who, Me? which also still exists and would be a nice addition.

I didn't know about the doc. Sounds interesting though. If someone wanted to release Z-Cars, there would be quite a lot of interesting items for use as extras (including a Late Night Line-Up feature on the making of the show from 1965 and many surviving inserts).

Does anyone know if there's any significance to colour episodes being released? Didn't TDUDP only have colour episodes released on DVD(excluding 'special features')?

Till Death Us Do Part is that? If so, it was probably because they thought the colour episodes would have better general sales and perhaps the intention was to continue to the b/w episodes afterwards if the others went well (which didn't happen possibly because Network moved away from releasing BBC programmes generally anyway).
With Z-Cars though, it's almost as if the b/w / 50 minute era was so strong that the later years have been airbrushed out of the picture! However, i'd be very pleased to see some of the later series on DVD just (both the colour / 50 minute era and the twice weekly b/w years) as much as there were some strong stories in there too.
