I was just wondering what people here thought about the bbc's decision to choose Engelbert Humperdinck as our representative in this year's Eurovision song contest.Personally i think the show should of been axed ages ago , but i guess he can't do any worse than the younger ones have done over the last 20 or so years , so good luck to him.

Well this is very interesting.Firstly why have they asked him after all these years and second id rather him than the new music artists as soo many are so bad being a semi pro drummer myself for over 35 years.

I guess he's been asked because of all the rubbish acts of recent years have been so bad. But in my opinion it's not only the artists themselves but also the writers , he's got to have a good song ,at least it might make it a bit more interesting this year , but the days of Abba are long gone.

I'd have gone for Cradle of Filth. They've tried most things so why not a septuagenarian crooner, apparently he's still quite popular in some parts of Eastern Europe. Mind you, as someone said we could field Adele and probably still finish near the bottom.
