Very strange because it was about a year ago here that somebody suggested that Davy and Jimmy Savile redubbed their voices on that muted links TOTP from 1968 that they did. And now, both have passed on since then.
Sad news.
RIP Davy.

This is terrible news. The Monkees were one of my formative musical influences. I always enjoyed their songs, TV series and movie. Despite the knocks, they proved the critics wrong to leave behind a quality body of work. It was so unexpected too as I didn't know he was unwell. I'm so glad I saw all four members reunite on their 1997 tour - one of the best gigs I have ever been to (and i've been to enough of them!). Davy was in fine voice on that tour.
What's to say but R.I.P. Davy? A great loss and i'm very sad about it.

Seems that we lose a 60s icon every year - RIP Davy.

Davy was a very fit guy so the news came as a real shock. I understand he'd gone out to see his horses that were kept at a ranch near to his home in Florida and was taken ill during the visit. He was an extremely good singer/performer and could certainly play (guitar, trumpet and drums). All 4 guys were very good musicians. 'Daydream Believer' will always be synonymous with him RIP Davy

Likewise, was taken aback by the news. Like so many others have stated here, a very sad loss. 66 is not old at all, taken before his time.
Rest In Peace Davy.

A friend of mine worked with Davy last year and told me that he was a true gentleman enthusiastic and appeared to have no signs of health problems. The day before he died, he finalized another business venture with his agent, only to hear hours later that he had passed away. Even though I have met Peter and Mickey, I regret not having met Davy to know personally what a nice guy he was. He will be missed by many.

It is very sad news to hear. I am a fan of their music, tv series and their excellent film head. RIP Davey, you will be missed.
