Is there list of all performances on The Old Grey Whistle Test?
This show seems to have had a good survival rate judging at the amount of performances compiled recently, though I might be wrong on that account.

It's nigh on complete except for about the first 18 months or so, for which there are a few complete shows but - more often than not - just insert session tapes of some of the musical acts (including some outtakes). That's a very broad generalisation but it gives you an idea of what's there.
I'm not sure if there's an online listing / index though. Anyone?

Record Collector magazine did an article a couple of years ago with performance details for each episode. I'll try and dig the article out.

There's some inaccuracies in the 'RC' listing; but I tried to amend them few years back using listings from Infax. These were posted on 'Old Grey Whistle test listings and amendments' thread if its still here somewhere. Not everything available seemed to be listed on Infax though. It didn't seem to mention the 'Reggae from Edinburgh' filmed gig footage from 1973. This did exist as it was shown on BBC4 later. The intro would have been a live electronic to camera broadcast faded into the concert footage and not recorded apparently.

This show seems to have had a good survival rate judging at the amount of performances compiled recently, though I might be wrong on that account. There were quotationss saying one of 2 Roxy 72 track inserts was wiped; and Jim Croce from 1973. Later on what has been said was that the material which was lost was the material which went out and was not taped off air; or pre recorded on tape as it often later was. So the view in latter years has been that all the recorded production inserts if not loaned in from a company; were held along with those editions that were recorded. Often interviews and the presentation links were recorded as well as sessions. Some of the inserts seem to include films from film finders presumably the ones to which electronic effects were added; which were then reused a lot in the show. The RC article was not that specific about the Zappa edition. It was a special and the material again that exists is the links; the special title card minus the text which would be played in live; and the interview. According to Zappa fans the Jean Luc Ponty material was live and the Zappa stuff drawn from the BBCs own archive and Concert film.
