2|entertain have revealed the cover and details for the Doctor Who DVD re release of the last complete Troughton story to be recovered, The Tomb of the Cybermen, twenty years ago, from Hong Kong.
Featuring Patrick Troughton as Doctor Who, the story is about the disappearance of the Cybermen from the universe. The Doctor, Jamie and Victoria arrive on Telos - once the Cyber home world - just as an Earth expedition uncovers the entrance to a long lost control centre filled with baffling technology.
Special features include an introduction by director Morris Barry from the 1993 video release, tests and buildup elements for the Patrick Troughton title sequence, a behind the scenes extract from Late Night Lineup at the BBC Visual Effects department to interview Jack Kine, The Final End, a small taste of the climactic battle from The Evil of the Daleks, a story mostly missing from the BBC archives, an audio trailer for The Abominable Snowmen, a coming soon trailer for The Face of Evil DVD, production subtitles, The Lost Giants, in which cast and crew look back on the making of the story, The Curse of the Cybermen's Tomb, in which Sir Christopher Frayling and Doctor Debbie Challis examine the ancient Egyptian origins to the story, Cybermen - Extended Edition, a history of the Cybermen, The Magic of VidFIRE, a look at the technology behind the VidFIRE process, a nineteen sixties Doctor Who themed promo for Walls Sky Ray ice lollies, a photo gallery and Radio Times listings.
The DVD comes packaged with re releases of the Jon Pertwee story The Three Doctors, which also features Patrick Troughton, and the Tom Baker story The Robots of Death as part of the Re Visitations 3 box set.
