Here is the DEFINITIVE word on the above clip from Keith Badman:- ""Manfred Mann's TOTP performance of 'Semi Detached...' from 1966 survives to this day because it was sent aboard for two European screenings at the end of that year. The first occurred on an Italian pop show, most likely aired on RAI. The copy we have now, comes from a repeat 1980s screening of that broadcast. The second came on French Television, during the evening of December 31, 1966 as part of the quite lengthy, almost 4-hours, EVENING OF the CHRISTMAS (NEW YEAR'S) EVE entertainment show. However, footage of one of the show's co-hosts, Raymond Devos, who was seen on the telephone, regrettably, albeit briefly, inter-cuts into the clip. For the record, this version, in perfect broadcast quality, still resides in their archives as a 16mm telerecording A decade ago, I checked the group's BBC contract files and could not find any record whatsoever of the clip's sale to either of those stations. Sending isolated clips from TOTP abroad was a common occurence back then and thankfully, many still survive to this day. The Corporation was notified of my findings back in 2001.""

Sending isolated clips from TOTP abroad was a common occurence back then and thankfully, many still survive to this day. There lies the problem, there are no/poor written archives that detail what was sold/supplied back in the 60's. Such a pity since it makes it almost impossible to find these clips without a starting point.

I suppose one way of identifing possible clips is to match known listed tv performances with the bands tour dates, ie if they appeared on a tv show but didn't go to that country, or a neighbouring one, during that period, then it may be a totp clip. You'll get a lot of promos and pans people type go-go groups but sometimes you have too dig a lot of dirt to get a nugget of gold. Not to suggest that pans people were dirty though.
