I stand corrected, albeit at a slightly oblique angle. But the ‘facts’ still don’t add up – especially the reason for not buying the prints.
As my old mate Chris Wilson sings – “He who waits…”

@anthony - I've spoken to him on the phone and I know the address of the shop. ........ Once someone has contacted the shop owner to confirm this story, could they please get back onto this thread and tell us if a print of Daleks episode 7 really has turned up? Ta

I was slightly intrigued to see the reference to "Episode 7" as, I think, the first episode to have that designation was Episode 7 of "Evil of the Daleks".

He specifically said that the tin had "The Rescue" on it.

He specifically said that the tin had "The Rescue" on it. Believe me, if it was a missing episode, I would NEVER have passed it up.

But you were happy to pass up the chance to make an easy few hundred pounds..? If it had been a missing episode, what would you have done differently that you weren't prepared to do to secure this particular episode..?

I didn't realise existing episode meant that much to others. If I had, I'd have done something about it.
I'm sorry about this missed opportunity, okay? Look, at least I TRIED, for heaven's sake. It's really unkind to keep slamming me because of that one missed opportunity.
It's like most people care only for results, rather than efforts. One lead that failed, and suddenly, it's "Roger Barrett" all over again! Can't we just let this go and instead turn our efforts to a new search? The print is gone. There is nothing anyone can achieve for blaming someone for not doing this, or not doing that. It's happened, and I think it's time to move on. Besides, it could still show up on ebay. Just keep your eyes open, people, and I will do the same.

Well said Vgretro. For what it's worth I'm glad you came forward. Most would not mention anything because they don't realize the value of an existing episode. What's done is done and there's nothing anyone can do right now save for following up with the store, etc. (Thank you Richard).

@anthony. I am American, and I've never been to York in my life (well, I've been to NEW York, but that doesn't count). As Richard can attest, he spoke with a Briton, and has an address for the store in hand. As for my name, yes it's made up. Vanderlinde-Abernathy doesn't fit well for a username. (I've never been able to fit it on government school tests. I'm use to shortening it.)
I do not appreciate your accusations nor do I appreciate how rude you've been to myself and others. I would ask that if you have any concerns or problems regarding any member on this forum to please deal with it privately with said person or to seek the advice of a Moderator.
Thank You

Tell me, Anthony... What is it you are trying to achieve here? In the end, you're making a fool of yourself by creating theories that anyone who fails to get Doctor Who prints, or who talk in different ways, are all conspirators looking for attention. My name is none of your business, and I don't appreciate this behaviour towards me, Mark or anybody else.
I can talk and write the way I want, and it doesn't matter where I'm from. I don't understand what you're getting at by criticising the incident that took place, the way I write, or what my name is. It has nothing to do with you, and you have no right judging me this way.
The sad thing is, there are many serious things going on in the world, people dying in different places every day, but this guy insults people and creates daft theories about people over Doctor Who... A TV series, people! It's not like this is about saving the economy or creating world peace, or a cure for cancer, it's about a TV series!
I have nothing more to say to you, Anthony. Your attitude is disgraceful.

Well, I've changed to my real name, but I still stand by what I said. I won't give my name to anyone who comments on it with snively remarks. Let's hope that we can at last move on from this whole business.

Whilst scooching round Venice, I happened upon an old curiosity shop, and noticed they had a stack of film cans labelled "La Powe del Daleks". They were twenty cents apiece, but as I had just spent my last Euro on a mint choc chip cornetto, I thought I would leave it until my next visit to Italy.
