The Teenage Dream clip was NOT stolen. It was recovered via a member of the audience who taped (or rather, so I understand whose parents taped it) and is owned by a very well-known archivist (not me). He and the recovery have nothing to do with the ""Marc Bolan Liberation Front"", who, it is alleged, took possessions from Bolan's house after he died while Gloria was in hospital. Mike, did you see the full Bolan clip in Soho a couple of years back?

Re: the Marc Bolan Liberation Front. To be very clear, I was the leader of the MBLF which was formed in 1991 to free Marc's heritage from the "fan club" which had been handling his affairs since the early 1980s. Our campaign was broadly successful. This has nothing to do with the looting of Marc's house after he died, and neither did I.

I'd like to see what's left of the recently recovered Pink Floyd - See Emily Play. What's the point of having it if we can't see it. Come on Beeb, get it on youtube! I doubt it would be the BBC that utilised it if anyone did. At MBW Dick Fiddy passed on comments from Pink Floyd's management that they themselves would reslove to make use of it in some way in future. Whether or not this actually happens though remains to be seen (i'm just repeating the comment). But i'd guess that the Floyd people would use it before anyone else did - if at all. That doesn't stop the BBC making use of the other similar clips though (e.g. Procol Harum with it's memorable stoned live vocal); with some work, these appearances could be used at least partially in clip documentaries.

Thank you for putting the record straight Martin - and also for your superb work with the T Rex archive.

My fave year for music was '79 (cos of my age and the music!)...would love to also see (as well as my last post) The Darts performance from 1/11/79...their best single in my opinion...Can't Get Enough Of Your Love. Composed by drummer, John Dummer...he's of the John Dummer Blues Band fame.

Right - let me explain the 'Marc Bolan Liberation Front' of which Martin founded in the 80's (hence the youtube vid) own the Teenage Dream tape.
The other so-called MBLF in 1977 (TOTALLY DIFFERENT - NOT CONNECTED IN ANYWAY TO THE OTHER ONE) burgled Marc's flat.

This was brought up at the time,in regards to the MBLF.I remember caused quite the commotion here then. Ray really "put the record straight" here in regards.Could not have said it better myself. Such as "The Pink Floyd" and "Pink Floyd" for example. In regards to the wording of the group, and the exact wording and meaning behind the MBLF of the late 70's,and Martin's magnificent endeavors of the MBLF( of the same namesake). Almost exactly the same,word-for-word.However,we know that the "THE" is significant as denotes the early era for the group here before dropping the "The" eventually all together.Just using as a slight similarity here,as might assist in placing some of this confusion in perspective here.Good questions however, never hurts to ask. I would imagine that Pink Floyd's Management may use this material sooner rather than the later. My guess here,is that the Pink Floyd-"See Emily Play" TOTP material will be cleaned and restored even further (fingers crossed) and some pre-inserted stills or the like inserted where the footage has poor playback.More than likely as a DVD extra, would hope would warrant a featured release of its own,now that would truly be a dream come true for me!!!Similarly, for Queen's management as have the Killer Queen material we would all like to see released in a proper-official manner. The YouTube clips are nice,as gives us a glimpse of something we may not otherwise have ever seen.No argument here!! Ohhh, just remembered two good ones. The Dave Lee Travis presented (brown duster jacket clip) of Queen's "Seven Seas of Rhye".Also for the 1975 clip of Queen's "Now I'm Here".Looked like one of the best recently returned clips have yet seen.High time to utilize some of this audiophonic-visual gold from the ol' dusty shelves broadcasters. The natives grow restless with each passing year The Kaleidoscope and MBW events are grand of course,no argument there. However, for those of us who are unable to attend these due to work-life-distance-etc.. happenings, are left in the shadows, listening to all these great gems being displayed, and hearing the various reactions.Which is very nice indeed, just wishing a DVD compilation may be arranged.Or on a CD release as a bonus feature at the very least?I fully understand not wanting to place this material on the Net.Would you,and see it bootlegged and sold under the table, what would be the point in that?Benefits too many in a negative way there sadly,as ruins the fun for us all However, with the recent 76' TOTP editions being rebroadcast, who can really state here with any certainty.Rights, copyright, artists issues, and many more legal items generally impede DVD releases of this nature. However, there have been a few good Documentaries of late which have used brief segments from some recently recovered material. How about a BOB PRATT Commemorative DVD release?Showcasing FINALLY some of these clips he had saved from the giant magnet in the sky!The BBC may not want to capitalize on the fact that he had at the time committed a severe breach of company policy at the time.May not want to display this in a poor light, possibly? As he truly deserves far better recognition for all the hard work and foresight in saving all this now iconic material.I know this has been mentioned before, just thought would be a good place to mention here for further discussion. Not to go too OFF TOPIC of course here,my apologies. Just a random thought. Those two Queen clips and that Shadows VT performance, would be a good addition here as well for the main topic Ray.(Remember reading about this a while back now.Was discussed in great detail.Wasn't this displayed at a past MBW event?I seem to remember seeing this listed in the program schedule posted online a long while ago now there?Possibly not, hmm? Cheers,Lance.

This is going a bit off topic, but there was no Bolan "Liberation Front" in the '70s. I came up with the name in 1991 when I formed a pressure group to deal with the fan club. What happened when Marc died was theft, pure and simple, carried out largely by Marc's own management team (so I am told) and, later, a small number of fans. I used the MBLF name on that Teenage Dream clip somewhat tongue in cheek and hadn't realised it would cause a commotion!

I'd like to see the full colour version of Dusty Springfield singing "How Can I Be Sure". I've seen a few seconds of the performance posted online, and presumably the whole performance exists in private hands.
