Hi, I'm new to the board but have been reading various articles/threads regarding the missing episodes of DW and the various hoaxes that have occured over the years. Now, I've recently come across this advert in loot www.loot.com/advert/doctor-who-film-reels-/5755975"Genuine BBC reels. Good condition. Film intact. They are: Crater of Needles, The Krotons part 2, The Slave Traders, The Space Pirates part5. No splits. " With it being a Preston location, I thought that it may be something to do with Darren Gregory after what I have read but am I right in saying all but one of the episodes listed are known to exist and only Space Pirates ep. 5 is missing? Out of curiousity I've emailed the seller, I know nothing about the collection of the missing episodes so if/when i recieve something back I'll post on here. Fingers crossed I suppose but we'll see! Andy

Just Google the phone number on the advert - you'll find it's Blackpool Hoaxer....

Ahh...never even thought about doing that! It is quite odd his youtube user name would be "Blackpoolhoaxer" Like I said, I presumed it wouldn't be genuine but from what I read the Blackpool Hoaxer was prevalent in the early 90's so for him to still be doing this 20 years later beggers belief

Apologies if this has been posted in another thread. I did check if there were any posts in May but couldn't see any.
I just don't understand why he would do this..I suppose to get people excited, build up hopes etc.
Idiot it would seem is not a strong enough word!

Just a thought but is there any way you can vet the posts from the individual who keeps posting on this particular page site and can be identified either from the pretend illiteracy or the very small number of posts to his (I assume - surely no woman could be so sad?) multiple assumed names?
It wouldn't be so bad if his posts were interesting or amusing but they are like something you get when you follow someone on Twitter who is at school...

The thing I don't understand, in all the things I've read about DG and various other hoax stories is that there appears to be know actual gain from them?
I mean if there was money involved or trade of other rare TV clips etc. I could probably understand, not agree, but understand why it's been going on for 20 odd years!

poor chap he obviously needs medical help Psychiatric help more like. I've just been reading these posts and from what I can gather this hoaxer chap has been doing this for twenty years or more. That must mean he's well into middle-age. Bloody hell!

Wasn't this exact same hoax pulled a while ago on a similar site? Gumtree, if I'm not mistaken, with the EXACT same wording and episodes?
