While looking at surviving footage of 'The Space Pirates' I found out that the existing clip from episode one was found because it was in a tin that was wrongly named. Could this mean that other Dr Who footage or episodes could be in wrongly named tins? I know it's a long shot, but I thought I would ask.

I think most of the stuff in the BBC archives has been checked (I know Andrew Martin has spent a lot of time investigating), so it's pretty unlikely -- but given the vast quantity of material. it's not impossible.

In light of the current material discovered on the uncatalogued POP QUIZ 1in tape in the BBC.Which featured Steelers Wheel on a 1973 edition of Top Of The Pops (Stuck In The Middle With You) www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjoqBaW6OMkWho is to say what is specifically impossible, and what is not there? These were actually found in a tin marked "Dad's Army Titles".There is an exellent article written by Richard Bignell in the second issue of Nothing At The End of the Lane on all the varrious returns and recent recoveries at the time of the article.Which has not changed since "Day of Armageddon" sadly. One of those,"It's only a matter of time, something will turn up". Also,"In April 2003 the final episode of the first series of Adam Adamant Lives!, 'D for Destruction', was located in a mis-indexed film can within the BBC's archives. The film is a 16mm telerecording of the episode. It is believed that for years this episode was mislabeled as a duplicate print of another 'Adam Adamant Lives!' episode."This is just a side note (not to go OT here) in that was also stated that "A four minute audio clip was discovered in January 2001 (also from Adam Adamant Lives!). It was recorded by a fan during the original broadcast in the sixties. The clip is from 'A Slight Case of Reincarnation." Interesting,a bit of a dated discovery now,but do not remember this one specifically. Was this released on the DVD Set by chance? Hoping this has been of some further assistance here. Cheers,Lance.
