Which means that only 27/02/72 exists in colour, and there were only 13 episodes, which makes more sense - 1/4 of a year, 'a season'.

However, there are many clips on youtube from this series - quite a lot are even timecoded, so I don't think anything IS actually missing....but....

Appears to be a 7 DVD release of the show! No idea if it's kosher or not.

Seeing as there is a 7 disk DVD release of this very show.Possibly a fan release from the sound of things here am guessing?

This is a complete mystery. ITN Source do not list this show (with the exception of the Raiders clip); lostshows.com suggests it's almost all missing, but there is a 7 disc DVD release on bootleg!!!!!!!!!!

I think I can put this mystery to bed.

It APPEARS - unless you know better - that the 7 DVD release of the 13 episodes (not official,) of the 'EG with the YG' show comes from Germany where the show exists in an archive, with German overdub! Hence the Goodies clip which appeared over here via Raiders in 2009 (with German overdub!!!!) Now that seems to only apply to dialogue, not songs. The fact that German TV has copies explains why youtube clips are in good quality.

""Engelbert Humperdinck starred in a variety show which was co-produced by the BBC and German broadcaster ZDF....A short time ago, a set of "Engelbert with the Young Generation" DVDs turned up online....upon receiving and reviewing the material it became obvious that it is not an official release but footage from the ZDF's archive....'dialogue' has been dubbed into German. This basically affects the short introductions to the films (in which Engelbert visits the Goodies in their office and gives them an assignment for the week), though it's still clear what's going on (and luckily the BBC retained the camera scripts for these scenes). As in "The Goodies" episodes themselves, all but one of the short films that follow have no dialogue (and therefore retain their original audio tracks). Even with this small hitch, this is an exciting find!

This was found by Andrew Pixley; the BFI , the BBC and Kal were all notified. Nevertheless, with a small exception for Bill Oddie's 'Raiders' programme, this was not put on the list of Recoveries/Discoveries in 2009 or before, by the look of it.

Great Bit of sleuthing there Ray.That must be a relief at being able to lay this one to rest.That does seem rather odd in that this find was not mentioned in the 2009 Recoveries/Discoveries list??Who knows there ehh.

The lostshows entry surprises me because I thought only 1 or 2 of the English versions existed. The b/w versions mentioned can't refer to the German ones because those are in colour.
If it were the same cut, then it would be nice, then the English audio could join the German video and Gerry Dorsey's your uncle. But I believe it may be a different version.
There is off air English audio for the Goodies bit of one of them.
