You can listen to Roundtable here www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00p4l4tAt 40min 20seconds in, my question is put to Bob. He talks a bit about Queen but fails to answer about any missing footage.

I don't believe the Bob Harris footage came from Bob directly, from what I am reliably informed.

Now that 'Days Of Our Lives' has an extended release on bluray & dvd, has anyone bought it and can confirm that in the bonus section there are complete performances of Seven Seas & Killer Queen from the recently recovered shows.?

I asked the question on Queenzone.com about whether the full Top Of The Pops performances are included as extras on the blu-ray release. Unfortunately this is the answer.
"Not in full unfortunately, but the 4 Seven Seas of Rhye performances and 2 Killer Queen performances are edited together to make new promo videos for those tracks. No sign of Now I'm Here from TOTP which is a real shame as it is a totally different audio take!"
That's a real shame as 'Now I'm Here' looked to be in great nick at the Stormtroopers exhibition. I feared the other TOTP's would be cut together. A real wasted opportunity again!

As mentioned further up the thread though, Killer Queen is incomplete anyway (if you mean the performance sourced from Dick Emery's recording) and so a complete version wouldn't be possible.

Yeah Laurence, I forget the one sourced from Dick Emery is incomplete, would be nice to see what is left of it though. I suppose I was hoping the complete performances (even just what does exist) would be used as extras.

It's about the second two thirds of the song, from what I remember when I saw it at the screening. Just seems to be sod's law that the recording started at that point!

I took the plunge and got the blu-ray of the Queen documentary. Like I said earlier, unfortunately all the 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' performances have been edited together to make one film which is a real shame as the footage looks the best we've ever seen it and lots of colour too! I do wish they could have just included one performance in full. The performance that includes DLT sweeping the stage features lots of starlight filters so there's hope John Henshall might have a broadcast quality tape sitting in his collection! The 'Killer Queen' footage is the worst though, it features the original performance we're all used to seeing for the first 43 seconds but then the one from Dick Emery's collection kicks in and we see that one all the way until the end. However they have decided to blow it up to widescreen and crop the picture making it look in even worse condition. Are these Queen clips in the Queen archives only or do they now reside at the BBC? Anyone know? Seems a shame BBC4 are starting 1977 Top Of The Pops tonight and doing a Big Hits 1977 when they could have made a new Big Hits featuring all the other rogue performances we want to see in their correct aspect ratio. Oh well, maybe one day...

Remember the Emery clip find was partial. That may well explain that.

Remember the Emery clip find was partial. That may well explain that. That isn't the problem with that performance. They do seem to use the complete footage that has been found like I said from about 40 seconds in. But they've gone and ruined the whole thing by blowing it up and cropping it to make it 16.9. It looks horrible.
