Weird how TOTP was on the end of Dick Emery show as it was on Fridays not Thursdays?

Rather odd on that one, good point Stephen.Does make you think there.I had seen some grainy, short, footage featuring Smile previously as was posted on YouTube some time ago now.Looks like the clip has been removed from YT unfortunately, however was quite grainy indeed and very hazy.Audio was similarly of substandard quality, however could of course been due to the YT compression possibly?Interesting indeed!Might someone have any further detains here possibly in relation to the recovered (partial) edition's broadcast date precisely?
Did they show the complete "Now I'm Here" 1975 performance?Or any footage there perspectively?Just curious there is all.
Cheers,Lance.

Now I'm Here was, as far as I know recovered from a domestic video recording.
Just to repeat, it's a Killer Queen performance that was recovered from Dick Emery, although I think the story of it being on the end of one of his shows' taping is not entirely accurate. TOTP WAS shown on a different day and it was NOT Queen's debut performance on TOTP (as most of us know).

Ahh,understand there now.Thank you very much for the very interesting info there Ray.Is very much appreciated in regards.
I will say this, going off the YT Stormtroopers filmed footage for "Now I'm Here",this looks like the tape was in excellent shape.U-Matic from the look am guessing,as colour contrasts are quite good. With basically no drop-out and good horizontal lock as far as can see, excellent, and rare indeed.Still am deeply wishing could see this footage in full, now that would be great indeed!!
Thanks Again Ray for the info and assistance there!!
Cheers,Lance.

Just to clarify there though, the Killer Queen clip that came from Dick Emery's tape is not a complete performance. It starts a little way in to the song.

Fantastic documentary, though shame on Gambo (who should know better) for forgetting just how spectacular a 1984 the band had in Europe and the UK (5 consecutive top 21 singles in the space of 11 months, 3 of which were big "video hits", plus solo success for Fred) which was then galvanised by Live Aid. Or am I mistaken in thinking that everybody seemed to own a copy of "The Works" and that Queen, as a commercial act, were as big and relevant as they had ever been?

The latter is nearly true. Queen never stopped being relevant, although I have it on good authority that my next door neighbour's dog did NOT own the Works.
He preferred Hot Space.

Maybe we can try and ask Bob today. He's a guest on Steve Lamacq's show on BBC 6Music between 4-7 pm. I emailed a question in yesterday about old OGWT footage he may have, and about the Queen footage from the documentary. Hopefully we'll get an answer. Let's all bombard him for a OGWT Vol 4 DVD too.

Bob is on twitter. Send him a message. I'm sure he'd respond. He seems pretty amiable.
