Does anybody on here remember an early 80s Play for today , called Muscle Market , in which Pete postlewaite starred , which looked very good
A clip was shown in the tribute which i presume means it survives somewhere in BBC Archives ,
Just checked under Alan bleadale and it does not appear to be on Dvd , Gbh, Jakes progress & Mellsia , is but not Muscle Market

It was repeated on Channel 4 in the 1990s when they had a repeat season of Play for Today,it is often described as a forerunner to The Blackstuff and is a brilliant play from when TV was worth watching.

It was originally planned as part of the Boys From The Blackstuff series, but apparently produced early to plug a gap in production.
It was shown in January 1981 as a standalone Play For Today between the initial drama and the subsequent series, centering on a building boss who employs people cheaply by being complicit in the social security fraud of his employees and therefore guilty of a crime himself.
I don't understand why it wasn't added to the Boys From The Black Stuff DVD issue.

I always wished I would have taped it I have been after it ever since. O h yeah he was in it too, the guy who used to be in Brookside, forgot his name at moment ..Bill ?
