This is a clip from the erstwhile music hall show (#not variety, that was working-class, LOL!), 'the Good Old Days' from '74. While I am unsure if it's missing (according to lostshows.com, the vast majority that are missing are pre-1972), it's intriguing to see this and I am wondering whether any are missing after '72? www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rsnsHLJNG0

It's interesting that the same poster has put up an ATV edition of "The Val Doonican Show", someone (from here perhaps?) asked if he offered it to ITV, and he said yes, but they're not interested.
By contrast, someone from Irish TV Archives has expressed interest in getting his RTE shows back.
Sad that the idea behind "Raiders..." seems to have vanished without trace, as did Carlton TV's campaign to get as much ATV material retrieved as possible before the big G swallowed them up.

Ray,This was among the footage I had discovered from the Patricia Cahill Collection.Notice is the same poster as the Val Doonican,Stars On Sunday material clips on YouTube. As was posted upon discovery in the article on Wipednews.com "Electric Dreams".
Also by contrast some material from the RTE 1969 Xmas show was used in a documentary which was screened this last year I believe.Would bet is a safe guess here that RTE know about, and have already used this discussed material.Never fear there!
I agree on the "Raiders..."endeavour,such promise dashed against the televisual rocks. Is a great idea, loved the material seen.In light of the recent talk in regards to the Japanese and archival tv material, the idea of disclaimers or a scroll preceding the presented material. Was great seeing the responses of the guests upon seeing the displayed material.Loved the rare SLADE concert material displayed there by the way, would love to see more material there in regards!
Hoping this has been of some assistance here in regards to the "Good Old Days" and discussed Cahill Collection.
Cheers,Lance.

Who said the Raiders campaign is dead? lol
We've been running it for five years now, and it's going great. We return stuff all the time to ITV and the BBC. The problem is when people contact archives direct and either get put through to the wrong person, or try to do a trade/ask for money. Then archives have to say no.
With regard to the Patricia Cahill stuff, if someone will return it then we'll pass it on. We did email the person that Lance put us in touch with several times, but nothing ever turned up.
It's very fashionable now for people to start their own youtube channels to show clips, but much harder to get them to part with the footage to go back. Often they will provide a lower quality DVD but the master tape remains sadly elusive.
