Am currentley reading Domnic stanfords brilliant book on the years 70/74, known as State of emgerencey , anyway in the chapter the Ravages of permissives, and the Sex industy of 70s is heavily discussed, among others there is a article about a 71 film called the Devils, by Kurt russell, with Oliver reed & vanassa redgrave which includes Crimes against Christanity (and thats putting it midly) , anyway this film was banned in 71 , and has not been seen since just checked Amazon, and there is only 1 avaiable and thats an import for £34, and the vhs is £17 alone
Take it its gone from puplic viewing by that

Channel four screened as they quoted "the most complete version available" on 25th Nov 2002 - followed by a documentary on the controversy surrounding the making and release of the film Titled "Hell on earth" featuring the notorious, rape of Christ sequence Details here www.independent.co.uk/news/media/russells-rape-of-christ-to-be-shown-604844.htmlThe BBC showed a version introduced by cult director Alex Cox in it's "Banned" season one Sunday night in the mid 90's (I still have a copy from this screening) - i can't see any differance on the channel 4 screening - would love to see a blu-ray release as it has stunning stark photography
