I was reading about these in the wiped dr who book. Do any exist for dr who or other programmes. It would mean alot of missing music would be recovered.

yes, but I mean the music too. From memory i think that m&E tracks exist for keys of marinus, the sensorites and planet of the giants, and no isolated music exists for those serials. Plus some must exist for other series too.

I have some of the music used in who. Some things have been released on CD over the years, such as tomb of the cybermen and tenth planet. Also some bits and pieces can be found on the radiophonic workshop LPs.
I fully understand what you mean felix, it would be quite nice to have actual 'proper' music soundtrack CDs for the 60s who serials. I would wager a guess quite a few of them are missing knowing the BBC! I seem to recall a large bundle of 80s recordings got saved from oblivion by someone or other at the Beeb, cant remember the story right now for the life of me.

From my knowledge, a part from stories had stock music, radiophonic workshop music, or no music at all, the only stories with existing music from the sixties where:
The Daleks by Trtistram Cary (reused quite a few times) The Daleks Masterplan by Tristram Cary (some reused) The Invasion by Don Harper (some of this is on the Invasion photo gallery, but quite alot is missing)
From the Seventies:
The Silurians by Carey Blyton The Sea Devils by Malcolm Clarke The Mutants by Tristram Cary Terror of the Zygons by Geffeory Burgon Seeds of Doom by Geffeory Burgon
I thought that the music from revenge of the cybermen existed, but it wasn't on the dvd, I also thought that death to the daleks existed to but I'm not completely certain.

Your right about the 80s recordings, it was every thing after 1983 done by the radiophonic workshop. It had been authorised to be junked but no one had ordered a skip! Mark Ayres talks about it on a documentary about the radiophonic workshop.

I would be interested to know if anyone has compiled a list of the library music albums (tracks) used in who. I have a particularly excellent one that was used in the original tommorow people series. Very psychedelic electronic. I used to get a lot of these cheap at car boot sales
