Yes, Mark, absolutely correct. I have seen no images from SWW's debut TOTP performance - yet, but singer Dave Bartram did remark on a couple of occasions how there was a sparce looking set with just some "furniture" from M&W's set. I have quite a lot of scans from Daily Mirror from this time and I attach from 30/5/74 the piece that says how that night's show was affected. Attachments:

The Daily Mirror of 23/5/74 made no point of a strike underway anywhere in that day's edition. Attachments:

Excellent work Chris - the 30th May edition featured this line up:-
TOP OF THE POPS 30/05/74 Introduced by Paul Burnett 10cc - Wall street shuffle (Studio) Alan Price - Jarrow song (Studio) Rpt Arrows - A touch too much (Studio) Rpt Cliff Richard - (You keep me) Hangin’ on (Studio) Rpt Cockney Rebel - Judy teen (Studio) Rpt David Cassidy - If I didn’t care (Promo) Mouth & MacNeal - I see a star (Studio) Rpt Showaddywaddy - Hey rock and roll (Studio) Rpt Isley Brothers - Summer breeze (Disc/Pan’s People) Rubettes - Sugar baby love (Studio) Rpt
The 23/05/74 edition's listing by the Daily Mirror is a typical 'in advance' listing.
Obviously, things were back to normal - briefly, prior to the technician's strike - by 6/6/74, as evidenced by the Bad Company 'Can't Get Enough' clip that was partially shown on Jools Holland recently and was a formerly uncatalogued Bob Pratt tape.

I am also curious as to whether the Pan's People dance and 10cc's performance were inserts or, in the latter case a promo film.
