Occasionally I am baffled about why certain things are in Regional archives. This BBC programme is one that has always made me wonder why:-
SANTA CLAUS FOR A YEAR:- BBC's "Man Alive" series follows three mayors in their year of office - Paddy O'Connor in Camden; Ethel Lancaster in Shrewsbury; and Cyril Smith in Rochdale. Differing styles and attitudes. 1966-67
What's odd about this one is normally they are news footage of similar. I know there is some interest in Man Alive as a programme, but only one-third of this would be of regional interest to the North West Film Archive (the Cyril Smith part).
I wonder why it is there, and not with the BBC. Or preferably also AT the BBC in addition to here.

It does exist Ray.
In the days before VCRs it was common practice to send film out to schools and universities for courses.
