My eldest son (now 28!) used to love this, and I recorded it all on VHS for him. I assume this is safely in the BBC Archive?

Well, there was a BBC video release of this apparently, so it definitely exists in some format. I suppose it is possible that the original tapes could have fallen victim to the BBC's last round of junking kids shows; was that in the early 90s or thereabouts? I forget.

Correct me if I am wrong, I think it was originally broadcast by the BBC in the late 1980's?
Also, I think it may have been released on video around the same time, but to my knowledge, has not been available since?
