Remember that there are two missing episodes of The Invasion. At present 2|e are working their way through the surviving complete stories and I understand that the incomplete stories are on the back burner just in case something turns up. The animations of Episode 1 and 4 of The Invasion represented 25% of an eight part story which would presumably command a higher price. If you think about it the same amount of animation (two episodes) would have completed The Moonbase but that couldn't have sold for more than a typical four parter.
If, hypothetically, one of the missing episodes of The Invasion turned up I'd suspect that 2|e might consider a re-release or special edition. I'd anticipate that the costs of the animations would have been fully recouped in the initial release. Assuming that several years have elapsed there may well be a market for an updated version. There is, of course, an obvious "extra" - a comparison of the animated version with the actual episode.

Well, they are releasing Reign of Terror with eps 4 and 5 animated for 2012. Ice Warriors would be the next obvious one but b/w dvds on`t appear to sell as well We desperatly need some more Dr Who eps to be returned

Well Leighton, you got your wish. Both Air Lock with William Hartnell from 1965, and Episode 2 of The Underwater Menace from 1967 with Patrick Troughton have been shown at the Annual MBW (Missing Believed Wiped) event this last weekend at the BFI Southbank Theater. These should assist to boost monochrome DVD sales I would think, much in the same way that Day of Armageddon was placed on the Lost In Time DVD box set, and stand alone releases respectively. My best guess here. Is in that they might take a page from A&E and release as a Stand-Alone Bonus Disk release. Much as when the first 15 minutes of the first Avengers episode " Hot Snow ", and " Girl On The Trapeze " were discovered in the UCLA library. Either that, or placed on separate DVD releases, this would make more sense for potentially higher circulation and sales of materials. The later here seems to make the most sense seeing 2Entertain's and the BBC's trends for releasing newly discovered Doctor Who material. Have no fear, has already been mentioned that these will be on 2012 DVD releases, we will be seeing these in the next year, have no fear! I would hope, and think that Ice Warriors would be the next possible candidate for restoration and release. After that, Ambassadors of Death, followed by Mind of Evil. As both of these would require extensive restoration work, as is commonly known in Doctor Who fandom. As well, just saw that the UK release date for the Daemons has been slated for March, and shortly after this for the rest of the world.

I was there Lance and I really enjoyed Underwater Menace ep 2, so much better than ep 3 which is already out on dvd. Also lovely to have a complete ep from Galaxy 4 an not the one from which the clips were taken for Whose Doctor Who in 1977. I still think they should be put out as a bonus ep on next yrs dvd releases, ie Krotons and Planet of the Giants
