I have very vivid memories of a show that I think was on in the very late 60s or early 70s and I wondering if anyone had any information about it. This is how I remember the plot.
A family buy a new car and dump the old one. during the course of the show, they keep seeing the old car getting closer and closer to their house. The twist came when they found the car in their front room with no explanation of how the dickens it got there. The car then started up and killed the all with the exhaust fumes. I think they got in the car and the doors closed on them.
Was this from an anthology series of some descrption? Or maybe a one off drama?
Cheers for any help.
Alan

That is an old chestnut Alan and something everybody remembers vividly for some reason as it was only shown once on a late Friday night (well some regions were probably different )
Anyway to put you out of your misery it was from the 1970 LWT series called 'Tales of Unease' and the episode was called 'The old banger' about a rather spooky Morris Minor.
There was another car themed play on around the same time called 'Tiger Trap in the Street' in which a householder fed up with car thefts, booby traps his car .

That's makes two old chestnuts if you include me! Thanks for that Peter. I do seem to remember seeing it twice though as I knew what was going to happen. Maybe I saw it in a different region as we were always visiting relatives around that time. But I will bow to your much more knowing and put it down to the memory cheating me. After all it was 480 months ago! A lot of cathode miles to be sure. Alan

Cheers Alan, glad it was the one.
Any company that makes DVDs would probably make a killing on releasing this ? and all the the other creepy stuff that has so far been ignored on the DVD market.

According to Lostshows, 'Tales of Unease' exists complete. One for Network perhaps?
