That Clodah Rogers clip is from The Simon Dee Show. It's taken from a compilation reel of existing odds and ends from the series which was uploaded to that well known torrent site around a year ago.

Thanks Tim.
I often have no idea of the rarity - or non-rarity - of stuff I reference, as I'm fairly new to all of this, and my main area of knowledge is some areas of music!
On a slightly different tag, I believe there is a colour Rediffusion ident in existence. I don't have it, but I know your area is this, Tim, please PM me and I'll tell you what little I know!

The animated Rediffusion colour ident was shown at the Kaleidoscope continuity event last year.
It has also been shown once at the BFI Southbank at the end of a programme, I believe.

Simon - just sent you a PM! Thank you (and Noel) again for Saturday.
I don't know if you know Tim, but he's a Rediffusion expert....

Glad you're doing that!
Personal view is I think all missing presumed wiped TV clips should be uploaded to youtube AND returned to their original owners - in fact basically ANYTHING that ensures their survival in some way.
Just my view, feel free to disagree....

I hope you didn't think I was trying to correct you Ray, I was just pointing out where it's available if you wanted to see more. It's always good to share links to anything you find online and I and many others enjoy reading them.

Tim, no all is fine! I only have reasonable knowledge on a small area of TV programming! Anything I can find out is good! A question, actually - is the Story Parade ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dnk9C-iPnus ) missing, believed wiped? I will get in contact with the poster if necessary. DO let me know!

I believe these clips were returned to the BBC. Andrew Martin would be the man to confirm this, but there is another compilation reel of these missing OOTU clips online at that torrent site including the opening sequence of Caves of Steel and the Liar clips. It's always worth checking these things out though, as some things that are in general circulation are not always in the archives. Because it's generally available, people tend to assume that it must be safe and sound.

If you go to the website zetaminor.com there's an article on OOTU that discusses all the clips for that series and Caves Of Steel. The writer has tracked down all the original documentaries they were sourced from and where the clips fitted in to the episodes. It's a really good article.

The writer has tracked down all the original documentaries they were sourced from and where the clips fitted in to the episodes. It's a really good article. Thanks for the kind words - much appreciated :-) The article will see a number of small revisions in the next month or so - basically clarifying and tidying up some loose ends and adding a few further details on what still survives (lots of new pics too, many of which haven't - as far as I know - been published before). Just one small correction - for those interested in chasing things up, the info on The Caves of Steel material isn't actually on the zetaminor site, but on the companion article at Nick Coopers excellent 625 Online site at: www.625.org.uk/cavesofs/sb21cofs.htmSimply scroll to the bottom to the article where it lists 'surviving material' - if anyone has any additions to this info however, I'd be very happy to hear from you! Very little material from the surviving clips seems to have been screened in recent years (I believe the 'Machine Men' doco was the last occasion), but I'm more than happy to be proved wrong in this instance :-) Regards Colin
