I know its not a missing ep but i wish they'd lose the "current" new opening titles and old 60's theme to it....... its way too loud and in your face for modern times
I know its the 50th birthday in december tooo though

At least they haven't gone techno with it, or raved it up....
Although for a special that could be funny....

I love the new modern (very modern) version of the theme music, with the "enticing" references to the oldest versions of the theme tune, playing in from the background to the foreground as it plays through.
Marvellous work.

On this subject, does anyone know how you can get hold of old episodes of Coronation Street to watch? I have the officially released DVDs etc., but would love to watch a couple of straight-through months of episodes from the 1970s or 1980s, for example (rather than just titbits here and there) - does any such old episode Corrie service exist anywhere?

I know its frustrating when theres a crossroads complete to 1979 box, now a corrie box of completes would be good too
the only place to watch straight throughs was Granada Plus when they did 1976 to 1991, and on saturdays had theme packages on certain cast and related
so glad I had the forsight to record all of these specials, some arent on the box sets or the previous VHS sets, though alas I wish I recorded all the 1976-91 lot now, as I watched them all, but only kept highlight eps, i am due to transfer these to DVD at some point really soon.

Did you know a Canadian TV station bought over 1000 episodes of Corrie in 1971?
""Canadian TV station CBKST in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, made the Guinness Book of World Records in 1971 when it bought more than 1,140 episodes of this series. The show ran continuously on the station for about 20 years. ""

Is there a reason my post from yesterday concerning the run of episodes in the US was removed? It seems odd as Pete's "that would be 1971/2 post was in reply to my post? Or am I being neurotic?
