6Music has provided us with loads of archive docus, John Peel sessions etc.
BBC4 is taking a battering and seems to be drifting to docus on science etc rather than pop and archive stuff.
And they are cutting back on websites which I enjoy. I remeber the top of the pops 2 board and the fact they had competitions and you could win stuff.
As an educator (copyright C Perry/L Barfe) I have always found the Beeb top notch.
It gets a lot of unfair press in the Daily Wail etc.
But it seems with these cuts archive tv is going to go even lower down the pecking order.
P.S. anyone see Paxman lay into Mark Thompson and BBC4 last night. Is he after a payoff/retirement or is he going to sue when he gets the boot?
