Does much survive from this programme? As it was from memory essentially a plug for the latest film releases I assume it is unlikely that many if any editions were kept as presumably the film excerpts were only licensed for one off use but does any one know?
Thanks.

I just checked the missing episodes search engine and it says that only an untransmitted pilot episode exists. It's a pity if the first show has gone as it included a "behind the scenes" feature on the making of "The Double Deckers"!

Thanks.
That's a shame - I was in the same class at junior school with Carol Walker (now one of the BBC's political journalists) and I vividly remember seeing her on it around 1971 or so when we had both gone on to different schools.
It had a decent theme tune if I recall it too.

Thanks for that archive listing. Shocking to read it. I do remember watching it as a kid in the late 70's - the last Michael Rodd editions - so am pleased some do survive from that era, but the fact the junkings afflict it as late as 1984 is appalling. No doubt I guess part of the notorious early 90's childrens TV junkings which makes one wonder if more shows from before 1976 were still in the archive then.

Their is a home recording of a Screen Test with Brian Trueman, does anyone know wether this is one of the missing shows, or one that has been kept.

It had a decent theme tune if I recall it too. Indeed, and it was released as a very limited, single-sided 7" by the excellent reissue label Trunk Records (their first 7", I believe) (I couldn't find even an audio recording on YouTube, but there's a small amount of fascinating old Screen Test clips, such as this one, purportedly from 1970)

Yes - that archive listing is depressing. I'd forgotten - but now remember from the listing - that there used to be guests from the industry and even the partial (was there a guest on every show?) details of who some of these were makes it a pity that hardly any programmes survive. No chance of seeing a young Carol Walker again either it seems!
