Lawrence WOF arrived in the 69 TV new year IE the autumn. It then interchanged between Hughie's TSTL over the year prseumably doing 3 months on and 3 months off? TSTL was running when Michael Miles died at a business meeting in Ibiza.
Strange now to think that Michael Miles was younger than Robin (Catweazle) Davies when he died.
Now who remembers 'Exit-The way out show' quiz - I dont

I do remember Exit - It's The Way Out Show! Hosted by Ed Stewart (around 1966, if memory serves me correctly). It used to be a regular viewing habit in our house in a weekday 6.30-ish slot in the Rediffusion area. I think it was fairly short-lived though, possibly only one or two series within a year or so of it starting.
Another one i'd like to see an episode of! What made you think of that, Peter?!?

What happened to Ed Stewart? Is he still broadcasting or retired?
Talking about Rediffusion series, does anyone remember Search For A Star around the same time?

Fascinating in hearing of all these reminiscences in regards to all these classic quiz shows.Seems as quiz shows were kept oftentimes randomly it seems here.Would be interesting to compile a comprehensive list in regards to what exists and what does not.Have found an interesting classic quiz show extract to look over: "Philip Schofield and Hughie Green discuss Double Your Money and the other big game shows of 1966 and the early years of television...on BBC's Television's Greatest Hits series." www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPCc_UjqZxE&fmt=18Interesting to note some of the other mentioned shows, such as University Challenge? Cheers,Lance

Presumably the survival rate of quiz shows is so very low largely because they were very much once only viewing and there was no chance of overseas sales?
It is odd how you can remember some but not others - I was born in 1958 and remember Double Your Money and Take Your Pick well but the likes of Criss Cross Quiz draw a blank.

What happened to Ed Stewart? Is he still broadcasting or retired? He's very much alive, he did a christmas edition of junior choice on Radio 2 on Christmas day last and appeared on the BBC4 comedy songs programme a few months back.

Many thanks for the very useful info on holdings, Chris. Just the sort of stuff we like to read!
Is the 1967 edition the 405 line VT with Barbara Kelly? An optical conversion is all I have seen of it myself.

Very interesting Chris, thanks. Granada have at least got a few examples in their holdings, which is a lot more than The Sky's The Limit or Wheel of Fortune. Did Criss Cross Quiz end in the sixties or carry on into colour? I used to watch it a lot but have no memory of it ending.

A number of Rediffusion quiz shows were recorded for some reason because there was a collector who dumped a few of them because he couldn't sell them. This would be mid 80s or 90s.
