I did post this before but can't seem to find it anywhere.
I'm hoping someone can help me please. There was a TOTP show Christmas 1969 shown recently on the Yesterday channel and I am trying to find out who the Shadows drummer was in the video. They played Apache then Cliff came on and sang Bachelor Boy and Congratulations.
The drummer is definitely not Brian Bennett nor Tony Meehan. Can anyone help please? Thanks

It must be said, the search facility on this forum is severely lacking, but here is an informative thread on this show from earlier this year I'm sure I read somewhere that it was Meehan on drums, but in reality this was a make-shift line-up reunited specifically for this show as the Shads had disbanded at the end of '68 and weren't to reunite as The Shadows until after the Marvin, Welch & Farrar project in the mid-70's. missingepisodes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=totp&action=display&thread=4475

Regarding the original question, I am reliably informed that it IS Tony Meehan on drums (with longer hair). So that makes it a unique Shads line-up for that one show. The intention was to gather as many of the original artists that were on the songs as was possible.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was Bob Henrit on drums on 'Pop Goes the 60's'.

I did answer this the other day but my first reply seems to have disappeared.
It looks very much like Bob Henrit to me, visually and technically.. Bob was actually lined up to replace Tony Meehan in the Shadows 1st time around but missed out when concerns were raised that he would be too young to play with the band in night clubs.

You could be right, Mark. It's not easy to take a look at him as there are very few shots of the drummer at all in there. I don't know Henrit very well to look at myself.

Thanks for the help everyone. Seems to me that it is Bob Henrit then as it really doesn't look like Tony Meehan.
