Hi everybody.
cold christmas pud thought for the day
Does anyone know why archive programmes featuring female leads, tend to get ignored ?
I have just read a thread on another site which mentions the classic show (Justice) featuring legiondary actress Margaret Lockwood, but there seems to be very little interest in it at all. Another very popular program at the time was (Kate) with yet another classic actress, but this too tends to get ignored while (Hadleigh) from the same stable so to speak and very similar in production often gets talked about? In the action location programs dept, despite its misgivings (The Adventurer) has been growing a fond affection while having a similar format (Shirlies World) never gets a mention.
I just wondered if its all a rather macho culture this archive lark ?
anyway happy new year to this entertaining site

Its an interesting point actually. I think TV was fairly male lead dominated until the late 60s / 70s.
I often wish when watching old film noirs that the actresses got more screen time than their male counterparts.
