I thinks it basically only the second series that survives in its entirety ? and that is only because German TV appreciated it a bit more than we did and kept the episodes.
The Lost episodes site will tell you I would have thought

Lost Shows is part of the Kaleidoscope website, Joe. You don't need to type in lost anything. If you google Kaleidoscope and go to their site, there is a link to lost shows down the homepage. Three clicks does it. I use it all the time no trouble.

I was wrong about series 2. Looks like a few episodes from each season from series 2 on then? only another 40 to find

The majority of missing episodes exist in Germany.
Ask Werner Schmitz for the full story, he's writing a Paul Temple bok for us at the moment.
Some only exist with German soundtracks but I've seen some missing episodes on VHS - colour telerecordings with German dialogue. Werner says he knows where the 2"English masters are but the company that owns them wants too much money to send them back to the UK :-(
Hope that helps.

The book sounds very interesting - any news about it? Would the company that owns the masters not do a deal so that the episodes can be released in English over here and released in German over there. Surely it is doing nobody any favours keeping them locked up? Can the fans not help to do something about the situation. After having enjoyed the recent DVD release I would really like to see as many more Paul Temple episodes as possible.
