I've just heard about this terrible news. Callan was and is one of the best TV series ever. He was a versatile actor who could handle varying types of roles equally successfully as well as having a strong singing voice.
R.I.P. Edward. I only hope Network bring out the complete existing Callan set soon now as a fitting tribute.

Oh no, this is terrible news. I've been waiting for a full Callan dvd set for a long while and most of the big or key series are out now except this one. He always seemed a likeable man. R.I.P.

Indeed RIP Edward. I'd love to see a Callan rerun, also he was one of my favourite guests on Morecambe and Wise...

Very Saddened to hear of this great loss.Sadly,I have only seen the odd snippet from Callan, really liked what I saw, great acting and atmosphere.
Would hope as well that further material from Callan may be released one of these days!
R.I.P. Edward Woodard

And a great number of us would also like to see the complete Wicker Man....maybe if they dig up the Bagshot-Sunbury section of the M3!!!! (ALTHOUGH I PERSONALLY DON'T THINK IT'S THAT SECTION....)

I see that the news is that the Callan black and white episodes are being brought out by Network in the new year. Still waiting for official news on it but seems like such a nice way of remembering Edward Woodward if it's true. A pity he didn't live to see the set himself as I am sure he'd be chuffed.

Yes, there seems to be news of this on Mausoleum but is still waiting official confirmation. Sounds increasingly like it's true though. It should prove a fitting tribute to Edward Woodward. Definitely one on my most wanted DVD releases for a long time!

He was a great talent indeed, superb actor. Could sing too. He also covered an early Elton John/Bernie Taupin original song in 1970.
