Dependable and hugely enjoyable to boot, with some great comedy performances too... for instance, the weaselly tenant who turns up to berate Bette Davis at her dinner party in Hammer''s "The Anniversary", or the dreaded umpire in that cricket match episode of "Ever Decreasing Circles". Then, of course, he was also Binro the Heretic....

It's not been a good year for TV people passing away. Another sad loss and a familiar face on screen for so much of my lifetime.
