Where did all the filmed recordings go or what survived when the BBC stopped using Alexandra Palace and Lime Grove?

Ealing is one answer - when the BBC bought the studios it established a film library there. Lime Grove retained a library for current affairs material, most of which ended up at Windmill Road wheb LG closed. Windmill Road was established in c.1963 as an overspill store for Ealing, became the film library proper in 1968 when the office staff moved in, and is set to be moved to Perivale next year. Alexandra Palace's film library would have been moved to Lime Grove then Ealing, though the News Film library probably stayed where News was (AP until 1969), before ending up at Wndmill Road.

It's scheduled to finish about this time next year - but the whole process has been subject to numerous delays already so it is anyone's guess when it will finally be over.

Isn't the ATV / ITC library at Perivale? Surely the BBC library is not going to the same place, or is it? Yours,

I think they have moved, not 100% sure. It's certainly not the case that we would be sharing facilities! The BBC will occupy an existing but empty building that used to be a depot for a chocolate company, but which is being entirely refitted to store the archive.
