I saw this in shops the other day. Apparently it's the six shows from 1990. Before I bought them a friend said the episodes had been edited down from their "original" 1990 format, and that certain segments were thus absent.
Does anyone know whether this is true, and if so what's gone? How does this differ from the "Comedy Greats" DVD which I have?
Thank you

It's been some time since I watched it, but I don't recall noticing any cuts. I think the running time was around the same as the 1990 showings.
The John Lennon appearance was there, and that would have been one of the first you'd expect to be cut.

I don't know if the USA version differs from the UK video release but there were a few differences between the release and the repeat run as seen on TV in the early '90s. The Glidd Of Glood sketch was one of the things missing from the transmitted compilations, from memory.

Hi. I've got this one, and wanted to reply.
First, the "Ol' Man River" sketch is completely absent.
Next, the whole middle of the "French Guide" is missing, possibly because of "I'm a Loser", yet the UK "Comedy Greats" DVD simply replaced it with a different song!
Lastly, I'm unsure what the original series looked like, but the US DVD suffers from poor picture quality, lots of flickering lines , blurring etc. What's even worse, is that the special feature/extra is a history of Cook/Moore. At one point they show a clip from "Superthunderstingcar" with the picture being perfect. Yet the exact same scene in the main feature episode bounces around like Tigger on ecstasy.
