Just looked at the site out of interest - when they advertise a DVD of Meet The Wife episodes most of which have time codes "but that was the way of life then" (!) you know you are on dodgy ground!
Shame the BBC won't bring out more of this sort of stuff like Network does as evidently there is a niche market for it if guys like this make up DVD-Rs of it for sale.
I won't lose any sleep over Meet The Wife (though Beatles obsessives will want it) but what's left of the monochrome Till Death Us Do Part would be nice.

Nothing on Ebay, for Colditz or Angels but under Zcars is an advert from memories tv intresting , its gotta be an Ex emlployee working aboard i guess as they all take about a month to get here Do copyright laws excist aboard ??
Right here is my take on the situation , so what if they are Bootlegs if the BBC/Itv wont make them avaible to the Public then we will have to go underground to get them, rather than give us all the Commercial rubbish in the shops that not everybody wants, , ie modern stuff like West wing or CSI, , okay most kids of today will probably never heard of Colditz/Angels etc , but if they arent in the shops they never will either So what i will probably do is get one to start off with then if the quality is ok will get others, as for the copyright situation its the BBCS own fault Not the pirates on this occasion ,

They're still bootlegs, and something to keep financially well clear of. There are plenty of old Z Cars episodes available via various torrent sites without the need to line someone's pocket. This is possibly where the contents of these bootleg DVDs originated.

You miss the point Nick.
Every site like this that exploits copyright leads TV companies to become harder and harder on genuine, legitimate researchers who ask for copies of stuff when writing books.
It dissuades proper companies from releasing stuff because the market has been eroded by bootlegs.
It exposes the silliness of people who'll pay money when most of the bootlegs are off airs that can be found in many collections for free if you ask around.
Finally, it encourages people who are blatant liars and often peddle poor quality crap which they sell through ebay etc, to break the law and that is not helpful.
If you want to pay £15 for some DVD-Rs that's your business but please don't post the link on here, keep it to yourself or you'll get this site closed down by TV companies who come here and read our posts.

If I only had a pound for every time I've heard exactly that 'justification' used for lining the pockets of people who profit from the illegal sale of copyright material. I couldn't agree more with Christopher Perry's post above.

So if the BBC, Wont allow the Public access to their archives how are we supposed to go about obtaining them, i have Many contacts within the BBC(No names mind you) who dont agree with me in buying them Underground , But Do say our archives should be accessable that is the point i was trying to make, your right on one thing i have absoultly no idea who i am buying from , but Mate of mine who recomendeed the site to me , says the quality is ok

Time coded material can only be an inside job though someone who spends time dubbing copies of Meet The Wife can only have too much time on his or her hands.
Bootlegging of music has an "honourable" history in a way as we wouldn't have had the multi disc archive releases of the CD era if the bootlegging of unreleased material - an important distinction to pirating of commercially available things - whether it be studio or live hadn't proven a market. When things like Dylan's 1966 show have been released they sold to a much larger market than those who had the bootleg and all the latter bought it anyway as fans.
I'd imagine within the next ten years virtually everyone will be downloading with only the old crusties (like me!) preferring physical product. More specialist stuff will be download only but at least that should make more stuff legitimately available if the companies decide to wise up and exploit their archives.

So if the BBC, Wont allow the Public access to their archives how are we supposed to go about obtaining them Oh dear! Why on earth do some people think they have the god-given right to demand any part of an archive whenever it suits them? Of course there are all sorts of programmes and series all of us would like to see released at some point. But this is the real world, and we can't always get what we want. So what? If something we'd like isn't available, we move on to something that is. It ain't rocket science! And as Christopher mentions above, supporting bootleg material simply hurts the legitimate market, thus reducing the chances of legal releases in the future.

Time coded material can only be an inside job though someone who spends time dubbing copies of Meet The Wife can only have too much time on his or her hands. Much BBC material is available as timecoded viewing copies internally on request so nothing would have been dubbed specially by anybody. We all know the pros and cons of bootlegging (it's been debated to death everywhere for 40 years or more!) and everyone has a different view on the subject. But no more links to such sites please, folks, or i'll have to lock the thread.
