Hi guys, I was looking for some recommendations from you fine people. I am currently looking for a really good book on the history of British television and radio, right from the begining onwards. I couldnt think of a better place to ask for recommendations, so please give me your best advice Thanks in advance! G

I don't think the definitive book on television has been written yet but to add to the above selections, the '80s book "Television" (based on the Granada series of the same name) is a good one if you can find a copy. It's a substantial read and does a pretty good job in covering the broad development of the medium from it's early days / different genres (UK and US) etc. etc. An intelligent book based on an intelligent series of the kind that - sadly - probably wouldn't be attempted today.
